Veronica Mars Project
Internet Actor's Database soul existence is to help actors represent themselves online. This is the reason when we get really excited when we see or hear that actors themselves take actions to use an online tool to further their careers. In this case I am referring to Kickstarter. Kickstarter is a crowdfunding platform. The company's stated mission is to help bring creative projects to life. Anybody can put their idea online and if they find enough backers, their project will become fully funded and then some. Rob Thomas, director of "Veronica Mars" did just that. "Veronica Mars" project had a goal of $2 million which was quickly surpassed and with over 91,000 backers the director collected a sum of over $5.7 million. The whole concept seemed unthinkable, but it broke many records on the Kickstarter website itself. It was the fastest project to reach $1 million, $2 million and an all-time highest-funded project in FILM category. Third highest-funded project in Kickstarter history and had most project backers of any project in Kickstarter history. It's not at all like what happened with "Paranormal Activity", but similarly proves the point that if you make something great, you will be rewarded, but sometimes you have to think outside of the box and use the resources that are already available to you.
